Session Description:


1) Provide senior HR leaders with an overview of how EQ drivers, with a specific emphasis on courage impact performance both in the C-Suite as well as the larger organization.

2) Offer some practical methodologies, applications and tools for speaking to senior-most leaders about talent development and bottom line benefits of a greater emphasis on Courage as well as other EQ drivers.

3) Provide some discussion time with peers around how to best incorporate, message and engage C-suite executives in planning for a better blending of EQ and IQ to benefit organization-wide performance, resilience and growth.


Dusty Staub

Speaker Bio

Dusty has worked for over 30 years with executives, families, and communities as well as with private and public companies. He has trained and coached executives and teams in creating high performance results. Dusty has also driven the application of organizational effectiveness and bottom line business results through an enterprise-wide process of aligning behaviors and leadership practices with business strategy.

He has worked and traveled extensively in Europe and the United States. He is the author of The Heart of Leadership: Twelve Practices of Courageous Leaders, released in an updated, revised edition in paperback and The 7 Acts of Courage: Bold Leadership for a Wholehearted Life.

Dusty is a fellow in the School of Engineering at Virginia Tech, and received his Masters in Clinical Social Work in Marital and Family Therapy and Systems Management from UNC Chapel Hill. He currently lives in Kernersville, NC with his wife Christine, a family physician and his three children, Sean, Kendra and Chamberlain. He has written over two hundred articles on topics such as leadership, team-based creativity, personal mastery, team effectiveness and business strategy and writes a bi-weekly column for the Triad Business Journal.
