Quantifying Human Capital Performance

This session will address the link between human capital performance and corporate financial performance and how organizations can begin quantifying human capital performance.  The discussion will include which corporate actors are accountable for human capital governance and risk mitigation and the role of Human Capital professionals. Research conducted by The Conference Board will be presented and guidance on strategic considerations as well as tactics to achieve high levels of governance will be discussed as a key aspect of ESG.

Dr. Solange Charas
Founder/CEO, HCMoneyball

Dr. Solange Charas is the Founder and CEO of HCMoneyball, a SaaS company offering HCMetrix , a unique application that combines an organization's financial and employee data in a single integrated platform to determine the materiality of the organization's human capital management. She is a Distinguished Principal Research Fellow at The Conference Board and is a recognized expert in the strategic applications of human capital analytics.

Solange has held CHRO roles in three public companies, held senior level client-facing consultancy at Arthur Andersen, Ernest & Young, Towers Perrin and The Hay Group. She has served as a public company Board Director holding both Audit and Remuneration Committee Chair roles as well as on several private, for-profit, non-profit and higher education organizations. Solange is an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Human Capital Management programs at Columbia University, USC and NYU.

Her research and thought-leadership have been published and cited in both academic and practitioner journals, including The International Journal of Disclosure and Governance, Academy of Management, Harvard Business Review(HBR.org), Forbes.com, and the Los Angeles Times. Her soon to be published book addresses integrating data analytics to enhance HC decision-making.

Solange earned her Ph.D. in Designing Sustainable Systems (focused on Corporate Governance) from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA in Accounting, Finance, and Taxation from Cornell University's Johnson School of Management, and a BA in International Political Economy from UC Berkeley.  https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-solange-charas/
