Program Description:

The culture of an organization underpins its strategy and the organization's strategy needs to feed and propagate the its culture. It is imperative that leaders:

understand the value of culture in an organization

recognize how culture is the cornerstone of strategy

execute a strategic plan that works in lockstep with the culture

make the definitive connection between culture, strategy and bottom line results

A defining thread of culture, strategy and company performance runs through the WSFS story which Peggy Eddens will share. By engaging a conversation around best practices and lessons learned, it is her intention to inspire your personal growth and to benefit your organization too.

About the Speaker:
Peggy Eddens is the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Capital Officer for WSFS Bank. She is responsible for: Associate and Customer engagement, organizational culture, wellbeing, strategic planning, talent attraction, selection and retention, communications, learning and development, innovation and community strategy.

Peggy has a passion for culture and recognizes its value in lifting performance and the bottom line. Her career spans over 30 years in the financial services industry, holding a variety of senior leadership positions. She received her MS in Human Resource Management from LaRoche College and her BS in Business Administration from Robert Morris University.

Some of Peggy's personal honors include: being a finalist for Delaware Valley HR Department of the Year award 2 consecutive years, Delaware HR Person of the Year award 2 consecutive years and the 2013 Trailblazer Award. She has also been honored to be a guest speaker for various organizations including: the Gallup National Summit, New Mexico's Human Resource Annual Conference, American Banking Association HR Leadership Series, Goldey Beacom College HR graduate school, Delaware's YMCA Statewide Leadership meeting and the Women's Forum hosted by Widener University. She is most proud, however, of awards bestowed upon WSFS. Being named a Top Workplace 8 years in a row, being singled out for ethical leadership and integrity 4 years in a row, and being named a Gallup Great Workplace 2 years in a row are some of her most notable corporate moments.

Peggy is humbled to serve her community and does so in varying capacities. She serves on the Junior Achievement (JA) of DE. Board and the JA Leadership Council. She is also on the board for Delaware Humane Association (DHA) and chairs the DHA Personnel Committee. She is a member of the University of Delaware Employer Advisory group and has served as the program director for the University of Delaware School of Continuing Studies for the Strategic Human Capital Certificate program.

Peggy is married to her high school sweetheart, Greg and they have two sons. She and her husband live in Hockessin. Her hobbies include bird watching, walking, reading and shopping! And Peggy remains a die-hard fan of Pittsburgh sports teams too!
